Security that closes the gaps
your shared drive can't.

Docutel is built so the right people see the right information, and everyone else does not. Permissions, ownership and audit are the platform, not a bolt-on. Below is what that actually means for your business.

The real security question

The biggest security risks in most businesses aren't hackers. They're the shared drive nobody polices. The ex-employee whose access nobody closed. The document sent to the wrong person because a folder was open to everyone. That is the problem Docutel solves first.

Permissions

You decide who sees what. Docutel enforces it.

Access is set at four levels. Combine them however your business actually works.

By person

Every user has their own login. No shared passwords, no anonymous accounts. Every action is attributed to whoever did it.

By team

Group users into the teams they actually work in. Permissions set once for the team apply to everyone in it, now and in the future.

By department

Commercial sees commercial. Ops sees ops. Directors see everything. Departments carry across every document and every app on the platform.

By company

For groups running multiple companies, each entity's data is walled off. A director sitting across both sees both; a manager in one sees only theirs.

What Docutel does not do

  • Does not train AI models on your documents.
  • Does not share them with third parties beyond the AI providers used to answer your query.
  • If we do need access to help you, every action is logged.
  • Your data is yours. Cancel and it leaves with you.
What's Underneath

Built on the right foundations

UK-hosted

Your documents live in a UK data centre, on infrastructure from OVH, an established European cloud provider.

Encrypted in transit

Every request between your browser and the platform is encrypted end-to-end.

Tenant isolation

Every customer's data is held separately from every other customer's, enforced at the database level.

Full activity log

Who asked what, when, and what answer they saw. When something needs reviewing, the record is there.

GDPR-compliant

Subject-access, deletion and portability rights supported as standard. Data Processing Agreement available on request.

Frontier AI, used properly

Built on the leading models from Anthropic (Claude) and Voyage AI. Each sees only what's needed for your query, under enterprise terms that prohibit training on your data.

Common Questions

The questions your gatekeeper will ask

In the UK. Docutel runs on infrastructure provided by OVH, an established European cloud provider, in a UK data centre.
No. Your documents are used to answer your questions, and nothing else. They are not used to train models, and they are not shared with third parties beyond the AI providers Docutel uses to process your specific query.
Not as a matter of course. Staff access is limited to what is needed to support you when you ask us to, and every such action is logged.
Their access is revoked by an account administrator with one action. The record of what they did while they had access remains, so you always know who saw what.
Your data is exported to you in a portable format and then deleted from the platform. It is your data, and it leaves with you.
Yes. Standard subject-access, deletion and portability rights are supported. A Data Processing Agreement is available on request.

See it running on your own documents

The fastest way to understand what Docutel controls, and how, is to see it working on the kind of files you actually have.
